I wanted to talk to you about why you need a guitar strap. There are a lot of different types of guitars out there on the market and you're going to find that they're all different. Some are going to come with a strap with it. Others will come with no strap and won't even contain the hardware for you hook up a strap. Despite what you might think the need for a strap will be based on your playing style. The way you play will inevitably determine what you're going to need to get out your guitar. I'm going to show you why you need a guitar strap.

If you've picked up a guitar with no strap or even hardware for a strap, than you probably picked up a Spanish type of instrument. The reason it contains no hardware is that it is designed to be played sitting down, which is the traditional style in that area of the world. If you plan on playing standing up you're going to need it. This could also mean that you have to manually install the hardware yourself. This isn't as hard as most people think, but it will be something you have to do with this type of guitar.

Another reason you need a strap is if you need to use your hands for something else. I know that Geddy Lee plays the bass, but he has a trap because he needs his hands free to play other instruments. Depending on the type of style you want to portray with a band, you may need your hands open to do other things.
